So you have given or rededicated your life to the Lord, and you feel a new sense of living life in the way that pleases the Lord. It is all great but now how do you go about it, how do you move forward especially in environments that do not encourage you to live a life of Faith and Christ.

It can be quite challenging when you start your walk with Christ, because we are sinful beings in a sinful world and no matter how much you try to live a life of holiness, you will not be able to completely escape sin. Does it mean that you should actively and consciously go against the Lord, no. Does it mean that when we sin, we condemn ourselves, and drown in guilt and shame, no. So what do we do then ?

This is a question, I have been asking myself a lot lately, that Lord, once you release me from this safe haven with you and into the world, will I be able to still be obedient and commit to your word. Will I be able to still prioritise my time with you, once you have sent me out in world to do your will, will I even be obedient to your vision and desire for my life, can you really trust me with this Lord?

And what I have realised and heard from the Lord is that, yes chances are, there will be times in my journey, when I will not be get it right and make mistakes and there will be times I will go against the Will of God, but here is the thing, I can always ask God for forgiveness and mercy, I can always crawl back to God, he will truly take you back with open arms. I know because I have given and rededicated myself to Christ so many times and every time I made my way back, God never made me feel like a failure. I don't want you guys to think I am promoting living in sin or being Lukewarm for God, I just want you to recognise that Life with Christ is not easy and it is definitely not picture perfect, every day is not going to be rainbows and sunshine.

You will experience pain and storms will come, but here is the secret, you can call upon your Father in Heaven and ask Him to send the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and help you in your every day trails and tribulations. Call upon the Holy Spirit to help you lift the weight of life, especially when you feel you do not have the strength to do it all on your own. A couple of weeks ago, right after encountering God, I felt the weight of life, heavy on my shoulders, I had so many things to do and I literally had no strength to any of it, and I remember thinking I going to have dig deep within myself to get this strength to do everything, and I remember God saying No, that is what you do not understand, I have to be your strength, you do not have to dig deep, I can give you that strength, just ask. At first I thought, that was me answering myself but later on I realized that was God speaking to me,

because all my life I had gotten so used to be independent and so used to relying on myself for everything and I never knew that God was the kind of God, you could ask for anything, especially things that seemed insignificant to ask God but what I realized is that God really wants you to let Him and allow Him to help you with your everyday life, He wants to be with you, he wants to guide you and lead you to His promises for you but you have to let Him and trust Him. Romans 8:9-11 says;

9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Ask God to give you peace amidst a storm, Invite the Holy spirit to be your helper, He will never steer you wrong, do not limit yourself in what you think you can and cannot ask God for, I have learned that God will even help in the midst of you wanting to act out of character, God will give you the peace and calm to handle any kind of situation. Call Upon the Lord in your times of joy and in your times of Sorrow. I encourage you to keep Psalm 121:1-8 in mind in trying times.

I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?2My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.3He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;4indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.5The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;6the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.7The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;8the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Have a Blessed Sunday, God Bless,

Zenani
